CELgames Confirmed, Official Games Revealed

In our PC Fair (II) 2009 post, we’ve mentioned that the CELgames’09 has been confirmed but we didn’t get to release any information about it. Now, the event have been confirmed publicly by the co-organizer of the event, GameAxis Malaysia; through a teaser page in the latest issue of GameAxis Unwired Malaysia magazine and also, the newly updated header on the tourney’s official website.

First spotted by [MyFeS.INC]No_MeRcY, the header reveals images of the tournament’s three official games:

• Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3
• FIFA’09
• Need for Speed: Shift

Yes, your eyes is not lying to you. The organizers really listed NFS Shift, which will be only out in the market around mid-September. It might be a very tight schedule since racing gamers will only have around one and half month to practice but we expect it is going to be hell of a show since there’s virtually no large-scale racing competition this year especially with Trackmania is not listed under WCG Malaysia this year.

As for the venue, while the official site only listed venue of the grand finals, which will take place at Plaza Low Yat on 23rd to 28th November 2009, we were told that there are a number of qualifiers that will take place beforehand. The venues are still yet to be confirmed but it could involved locations in both in and outside Klang Valley.

Also revealed at CELgames’ official website, is this year’s sponsors. Listed as platinum sponsors are Gigabyte and Nvidia while long time sponsor, Corsair together with Razer, Cooler Master and Sonic Gear are listed as the tournament’s gold sponsors. From the given list, we can pretty much guess the CELgames’09 official PC specs, which will be assembled by Viewnet.
