Starcraft II

Earlier today, the folks at Blizzard has announced that their eagerly awaited cash cow RTS, the Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty will not see the daylight in 2009. Instead, the game’s release date has been moved to “first half of 2010“.

According to the announcement, the main culprit behind the delay was the upgrade process of Battle.net. The company are taking their own sweet time to fulfill their vision of the service as the online multiplayer platform will an important part of the SCII’s experience and future Blizzard release.

Really, you can’t blame them, the service has been around since 1997, that’s a pretty long time, man. Still, that means no Zerg rush this year then. Fortunately, it would not affect Diablo III release schedule, expected to be out next year.
