GO.esc Introduces Casual Games, Opens Online Registration
August 5, 2009 by Chapree

It’s a delirium alright.
As we mentioned earlier in the previous post, Go International Group are to announce the additional official games for their inaugural Go International E-Sports Cup (GO.esc) on the 1st August. The given date is also the first day of the Indie Youth Fest’09 kick off event, which took place at One Utama, PJ throughout last weekend. For that, we stopped by at the event to check the list of added games.
To our delight, they not only added 1 or 2 games, but a whole new category instead. The category is called called Casual Games and these are the games:
Bejeweled Blitz (Facebook)
Bookworm Deluxe (PC)
Grand Theft Auto 4.0 (PC)
Tetris (Mobile Phone)
Trackmania (PC)
Currently, the organizer are still open for games suggestion which is the reason behind an empty “Others” field on the category’s online registration form. These games will played at the main GO.esc event in October but unfortunately, the prizes will not include a trip to Dreamhack.
As for the main category, the DreamHack Malaysian Qualifier (DH.my); no additional games is confirmed so far apart from the previously announced Counter-Strike 1.6. According to the event director, Jasmine Low; the second official DH.my game will be a single player game which is to be announced soon due to the fact that, Dreamhack Sweden themselves haven’t announce the complete games lineup for their Winter event. That being said, gamers still can nominate their DH.my game of choice to Go International.
The online registration for DH.my Road Tour have been opened as well through IYF’09 official website. The fee for each team is RM 100. The tour will make its first stop at FTZ Penang on 15 - 16 August and will then move on to several other venues such as Gizmo Gamers Kuching, Sarawak, a yet to be known venue in Johor and FTZ Subang Jaya, Selangor before moving back into One Utama on 14 - 18 October for the finale.
Don’t forget to visit their official website for complete details.

It’ll be great next time with qualifiers for casual gaming as well. To expand beyond player regions.
