Alienware Is Officially Here With The Release of M17x Laptop

It was just barely a month ago that our frontpage editor Twitted about the official arrival of Alienware in our country. Today, the much touted gaming PC brand is now officially here with the launch of Alienware M17x laptop, simultaneously with its US unveiling at E3 2009.

Available in two colors - Space Black and Lunar Silver, the M17x price starts from RM 8,499 according to Dell Malaysia’s online store. For that price, you are looking at this main specs:

• Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9550 (2.66GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 6MB Cache)
• 4GB Dual-channel 1067MHz DDR3 SDRAM (2 x 2GB)
• 1TB 7200RPM SATA RAID 0 (2 x 500GB) hard drive
• Single 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M
• 8X DVD + /-RW Drive with DVD + R double layer writing capability
• Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition

It comes standard with an anodized aluminum body, 17″ Wide UXGA CCFL LCD display with 8ms response time, 9-cell Lithium-Ion battery and AlienFX illuminated keyboard. If you thinking of swapping the standard parts with something more beefy, options such as Intel Core 2 Quad or Core 2 Extreme processors, Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M or 280M in SLI configuration, Blu-Ray drive, Solid State hard drives and up to 8GB of Dual-channel 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM should able to satisfy your hunger.
