Weekend Football With Games Monster Winning Eleven’09 Championship

Games Monster just kicked off a huge 5-month long tournament worth RM 14,000 of cash prizes for Winning Eleven 2009 folks out there. Running on Sony PlayStation 2, the series starts from this month onwards up until November and early December, with the exception of August & September due to Ramadhan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri period respectively.
The series will take place at Games Monster outlet in Anggerik Mall, Shah Alam and here are the tournament’s full schedule:
1st Championship Qualifying: 17, 23, 24 & 30 May 2009
1st Championship Final: 31 May 20092nd Championship Qualifying: 7, 14, 21 & 27 June 2009
2nd Championship Final: 28 June 20093rd Championship Qualifying: 5, 12, 19 & 25 July 2009
3rd Championship Final: 26 July 20094th Championship Qualifying: 4, 11, 18 & 24 October 2009
4th Championship Final: 25 October 2009Championship Finale Qualifying: 1, 8, 15 & 22 November 2009
Championship Finale Grand Finals: 6 December 2009
From what we understand - since this tournament have a pretty huge structure, eight players from each Championship Qualifying will qualify to the Championship Finals. From there, top two from each Championship Finals will be then seeded directly to Championship Finale Grand Finals in December.
Also, it might seem weird to many who are used to normal competition format, local Winning Eleven community uses a rather unique system where one player can actually registered more than one participants slot for himself. For this competition series, registration fee for each slot is RM 20.
That being said, there will be a limit of 2 slots per person in each Championship Final and only 1 slots per person in Championship Finale Grand Finals. Further limitation also goes for Top 4 of each championship, where they are not allowed to participate in the subsequent championship period. Means that, if you are one of the Top 4 in the 1st Championship, you can’t participate in 2nd Championship but you can play again in 3rd Championship.
