WCG Singapore 2009

WCG Singapore recently relaunched their official website with a new look and also confirms the list of official games that will be played this year at their event. Altogether, there are 15 (FIFTEEN!!!) games and interestingly, six of them are listed under Open Category.

As a refresher or if you are new around here, WCG Singapore Open Category is the no nationally restrictions section of the event. Last year, Call of Duty 4 and DoTA was included in that list. This year, different games are listed instead:

  • Blackshot (PC)
  • Left 4 Dead (PC)
  • Team Fortress 2 (PC)
  • Viwawa Groword (web)
  • Viwawa Stwack (web)
  • Viwawa Sushido (web)

For the 1st three games in the list, participants able to skip through the group stages and straight into Quarter Finals at two pre-event qualifiers: WCG SAFRA Champions League 2009 and WCG Funan League next month. The normal group stage will be held during WCG Singapore National Finals week in July.

Our DoTA and Call of Duty team managed to played well over there, so we do hope that at least our L4D and TF2 players as well as players from the other three games will take up the challenge this year.

Registrations for SAFRA qualifiers has been opened while others are expected to be opened soon. Check their registration website periodically for more details.
