SMM Grand National DoTA Tournament 2009 Details Revealed

Team EHOME of China - the SMM Grand National DoTA Tournament 2008 Champion. Will local teams take over the championship this year or will it go to international team once again?

Oh boy, aren’t DoTA fans (local and international-alike) going to be merry. The biggest DoTA event of the year is here again - SMM Grand National DoTA Tournament 2009 (SGNDT’09) has been announced officially by its founder, Sendi Mutiara Multimedia. As usual, the huge cash prizes are the main attraction of this tournament and as promised by Dr. Ricky, SMM’s CEO at SGNDT’08 closing ceremony, prizes went up again for 2009 edition.

The first SGNDT’09 State Qualifiers will be in Melaka on 30th May and will then tour all over the country including East Malaysia up till the Grand Finals on 27th November. That’s half a year worth of action! The exact venue for each qualifier are not yet known, so you got to hold your horses 1st. Not to forget, SMM also will opened up the registration for international teams, but they will be slotted directly to Grand Finals, as per last years.

The registration fee for each team will be RM 150, payable on the day of each qualifiers with the registration process to be completed online starting on 23rd May. We got more details after the jump or you can check them out through these links.

• Melaka: May 30th – 31st
• N.Sembilan: June 6th - 7th
• Penang: June 13th - 14th
• Pahang: July 4th – 5th
• Sabah: July 18th – 19th
• Sarawak: August 22nd – 23rd
• Johor: August 29th – 30th
• Perak: September 12th – 13th
• Selangor: October 10th – 11th
• Kuala Lumpur: October 24th – 25th
• Grand Finals: November 27th – 29th

State Qualifiers Prizes

• Champion: RM2000 Cash + Medal + Qualified to National Grand Final
• 1st Runner Up: RM1000 Cash + Medal + Qualified to National Grand Final
• 2nd Runner Up: RM600 Cash + Medal+ Qualified to National Grand Final
• 3rd Runner Up: RM 300 Cash + Qualified to National Grand Final

Registration Process
Local Teams
Registration for SGNDT 09’ starts on the 23rd of May. Below are the following steps:

1. Head over to www.smm.net.my
2. Click “Register my team”
3. Fill in your complete team and member details.
4. A confirmation email will be sent to your mail-box within 3 working days. Included will be tournament details, venue address, time, and number to contact.
5. Print a copy of the document and submit it on the tournament day itself.
6. A payment of RM 150 is to be made directly on the day of the event. Kindly refer to the state scheduling date for the exact day.

International Teams
A registration process will be conducted for international participants (Europe, U.S, and Asia) who are interested in joining SGNDT 09’. International participants will automatically gain a slot into the SGNDT 09’ Grand Finals. No registration fees will be required. Terms & Conditions apply.
