Infocomm Asia Holdings Pte Ltd and local online game distributor 8 Interactive Sdn Bhd held a signing ceremony today to exclusively distribute one Dragonica Online game in Malaysia.

Dragonica Online is developed by Barunson Interactive; whom some of you might remember as the creator of Dragon Raja. If you are a fan of games like Ragnarok Online or Maple Story, this new genre of 3D side-scrolling arcade game might be of your interest.

The game comes with all the perks of an MMORPG; 4 different base classes (Fighter, Magician, Archer and Thief), 36 different jobs and 4 secret “paths” which you need to discover yourself. There’s also a pet system, an “own-your-own-home” feature, expressive emotes, PVP system, relationship feature and others. But this is common so I won’t dwell too much into it.

But if I were to play this game, it would be because the game characters are just too cute to resist.

I foresee this game will be a jumping fest for a lot of players.

Business model for this game? Free to play!

For those whom are interested to test a new game, targeted Close Beta for Dragonica Online would be between April or May 2009.

Among highlights of the event other than the signing ceremony were an appearance from the Dragonica appointed ambassador and a local artist; Ms Karen Kong. More pictures of her on Multiplay’s Flickr.

More information of Dragonica available at http://dragonica.8i.net.my/. The site is in Chinese in the mean time so you might need some translators to navigate through the site. It is unsure when the English site will be up since this game caters for both languages.

Alternatively you can just surf to IAH’s Dragonica site.
