WCG Official Games List #2 Released: No CnC & NFS, FIFA Stays, Trackmania Is In
April 14, 2009 by Chapree

After overdue for 13 days (you see, they promised in March), World Cyber Games finally announced the second official games list for 2009, in addition of 5 games they announced before. They are:
PC
- Carom3D
- FIFA’09
- Red Stone
- Trackmania Nations Forever
Mobile
- Ashpalt 4
- Wise Star2
Promotional Title
- Dungeon & Fighter (MMORPG for PC)
As you can see, long standing official games from EA such as Need for Speed and Command & Conquer has been dropped, with only FIFAwas retained, now for the 9th year. Among the unexpected inclusion was Trackmania Nations Forever, as this free racing game was initially developed specially for WCG’s competing tournament, Electronic Sports World Cup.
Apart from TMNF, the other titles are rather so-so, in our humble opinion. For us, they are somewhat there just to complete the lineup, as these games has been in WCG’s list for the past for few years, with the exception of Wise Star2.
So, what’s next? We guess, the probable step is to wait for announcement from WCG Malaysia’s National Organizer. We expect that couple of major and minor changes will happen due to the official games list announcement and also, current economic condition…we also hope that it will not fall on the bad part of the chart though.

the game list looks really weird @_@ its as if they’re gearing away from hardcore gaming to casual gaming. carom3d being a pool game, red stone being some sort of isometric mmorpg or something (didn’t really do much reading, just saw the screenshots), trackmania we know is a very demanding game, where the slightest mistake can make all the difference. no RTS or FPS action to be seen yet. i wonder whats in store for the future…
