The LAN Party area at Cyber Fusion’09 , hosted at Grand Hall of MMU Cyberjaya.

Miss our live updates? We are back, live from Cyber Fusion’09 at Grand Hall of Multimedia University, Cyberjaya. Yours truly together with around another 290 gamers will attempt to break the longest mass-participation LAN Party world record, which currently stands at 36 hours.

We will try our best to provide live coverage from here. The internet speed is like roller coaster, so we can only hope for the best. Jump in, then!

0015:The world record breaking attempt started at midnite. This place is more like a rave party with disco ball, colorful lights la…almost couldn’t hear sounds from my game.

I’m sitting at Island 13, majority of them are Malaysia Battlefield Team (MBT) guys, which also couple of LYN GRIDders. LYN GRIDders = Race Driver GRID hardcore racers in Lowyat.NET Forums.

0018: Invince_Z challenge me to solitaire,lulz. I’ll show the piktor later. (UPDATE: It’s nao HERE).

0027: GRID guys are going into 20 laps DERBY madness. All in the LAN area are welcome to join.

0040: Just finish…and they want to go again. This time 40 laps.

0132: Crazy! Only one guy able to finish and other pretty much DNF with couple of laps behind

Along the way, we heard announcement of fried router, so the intahtube will be down for now. Also, 6 guys MIA, our total number is down to 285 gamers.

That being said, e-Club Malaysia just opened servers for guys to download Valve games. It’s limited-time tournament key, so we can’t bring it home ler.

Asiasoft also opened up their server to download Sudden Attack. That one, you can bring home XD

0141: Moer GRID coming in. Looks like we got full house of 12 players. 20 laps next.

0212: nles is flashing us non-stop (with his Alpha flash), lulz.

0215: Tudung girl playing CS spotted. That’s not all, she played a lot of titles together with her friends that accompanied her.

0220: Word of advice: Buy Mamee Monster a lot when you going to LAN Party. Awesome snack, kinda popular with LYN GRIDders group here.

0230: WE WANT MOER RED BULL!! All Red Bull fridges are empty

0347: Alrdy stopped GRIDing. Now, I’m playing CoD:MW

0400: Received bad news from crew, looks like a couple of wankers who didn’t want to listen properly to instructions are killing the fun here since there are a network virus on the lose.

So guys, if somehow you reading this, edit your network setup as instructed. Also, install anti-virus, even if you feeling anal about it. If you don’t have any on your hand, the Quick Heal guys are around to provide you protection.

Last but not least, stop playing on Garena (no offence, but it kills the internet for the rest of the pple). Please and pretty please, don’t kill the fun for the rest of us.

0432: Can’t believe it, some wankers actually torrenting. Fun killer. Server did log stuff, so I do hope that they’ll shut it down before they got caught and unceremoniously kicked out from the event.

0456: The internet has become wayyyy better than it used to be since 4 hours ago. Jali’s speech plus death threats from the forums must be working then, lulz.

0522: Bulibuli The GRID Lord’s PC have Guitar Hero 3 installed, equipped with moi GH2 controller. Gonna spend some time there later…just can’t help it la…~

0524: My island (LAN Island 13 if you want to know) still haven’t got our food. Can we has food, dear CF’09 crews? Some of the guys already went nuts and currenty karakoing whatever song playing over the PA, so yeah =D

Oh yeah, seems that the tracklist have been repeating couple of times as well. Need of new songs, yes?

0600: Another hour, another lucky draw…looks like ticket holder no. CF0191 got lucky for this hour. Wonder what he won…

0631: I’ve just took my 1st 30 min rest. It’s too short leh.

I plan my next break to be at 12 noon or 1pm. For those who doesn’t know, for each hour, we got 5 min break which can be accumulated over time.

0640: LYN Coalition guys just mentioned that the Valve Mini Tournament server is now up, after a long winding road. So, the tournament should be running soon.

My kudos goes to the crew members, which many of them are still working towards repairing PCs that hitted by the network virus and other difficulties. We heard a tale of a PC in the LAN that was so virus-ridden, that after installing anti-virus, it refused to work properly. Scary stuff indeed.

0753: The eight hour of LAN is coming shortly. Seems that the internet connection gone again. Yeahh, just confirmed it’s down. Just when we need some entertainment, as fatigue already sets in.

0826: 5 more pple have been DQ’ed from the LAN attempt, due to the fact that they didn’t re-check in after their break. Now we are down to 280 people, aihhh~

0848: Breakfast served! Hot Dog and a bottle of water. Not too shabby for a free breakfast =D

Addition, the LYN Coalition pple are looking for participants for Valve Mini Tourney. Up to RM 1000 of cash prizes to be won, so if you guys in the LAN party, go sign up ftw!

0910: The tournament guys already started to swarm in.

Also, don’t connect to MMU’s CyberTracker please. Although it’s a MMU’s internal BT tracker, but please think again before you connect, as it might disrupt the network.

1021: Mannn, I’m getting jadded already. Well, the hall is so awesome that very little natural light can come in into it, but they already turn on the lights, so it’s kinda bright. Feeling like vampire right now.

Also, the big timer is nao gone. Maybe they want to let the projectors cool down first?

1107: Tournaments, both inside and outside the LAN already started. A number of matches will be displayed at the big screen currently and will be shoutcasted by the always kick arse Australian outfit, GameStah Radio. They also streamed it only, so check out their site if you into that.

Since moi stuck with the PC in the LAN Party area, I’m not able to bring you results.

On another news, a relevation in our forums said that the UCpro DoTA teams has disbanded (with dramatic reasons), and is now competing in CF’09 as Mineski.Tbun. Hmmm….

1153: The GWR rep is walking around, guys. So, stop watching Maria Ozawa and run the games! At least Solitaire… XD

1230: Hey, we just passed the 12-hours mark! Well, nothing really going on right now, everybody was kinda immersed in their own games or tournaments. Lunch coming at 1pm, yay!

There must be a better way to distribute the Red Bull drinks. Apparently, there’s only 1.2k cans but that should be enough for 4 cans each. But many of us still haven’t got any.

Btw, kinda sorting out some pictures nao, so stay tuned.

1248: Heard one guy might be DQ’ed from record attempt because he didn’t record his break time properly. Just some rumors in the air, but seriously, can we just follow the rules properly for once?

1257: In our forums, somebody complained about the thick smoke in the toilet. It’s true, the smoke is so damn thick and the place has some sort already become smokers’ ash dumping site. The problem is there are no dedicated smoking room AFAIK. There should be one in the 1st place =/

1302: Asiasoft held CABAL leveling contest for the LAN gamers. The highest leveller in a set amount of time will walk away with some goodie from ze company. CoD4 match also already started.

1400: Ooopsie daisy, was caught up with CS1.6, haven’t played that for sometime. Lunch just arrived and the menu is rice and some chicken. Moi might be taking the allocated break soon…maybe a bath would do me good.

1423: Mike of GameGen stopped by at moi “mothership” and informed us that World of Warcraft Levelling Contest is going to happen soon. No time limit, the first three to reach Level 20 will receive World of Warcraft Collector’s Edition wroth around RM 469. But…you need to have your own WoW account.

Meanwhile, Skuad ERA Avanza guys are chatting it out in front. They said they going to do rounds and give stuff to guys in the LAN area.

1523: Wow, it’s already 15 hours? Skuad ERA Avanza still around, going from the LAN area to booths around the hall. Also, passing out some freebies including ATI Graphic Cards and AMD swags.

More LAN Party tips: If too tired or bored with 3D games, try play some puzzle games, example Bejewelled or Zuma, it might help you coupe with sleepiness. For Cyber Fusion’09 record attempt, card games for example - Solitaire, are not allowed.

1628: Looks like Sudden Attack is up next on the big screen…and I’m now really going for my break.

1702: Managed to get a bath and walk around tourney area. Looks like we getting burger soon and Red Bull girls already here to distribute the energy drinks personally. Awwwhhhsommmmeee~

CoD 4 Finals just started between [JEDI] and ESP. Can’t see which ESP team though.

1900: Yes, we just hit the half-way point! We gonna hit ‘em home in 19 hours, w00t~

Currently playing CS:Source. Only me and another guy, the rest are bots. Nobody play CS anymore?

1928: Correction, the CoD4 match just now not the finals. The Grand Finals actually happening now. Apart from that, nothing much really happened. We did heard that after midnight, the giveaway will be given for every half an hour, instead of once an hour. It was said to keep the LAN guys awake. Free stuff, of course la!

2100: Only 3 hours left to achieve the full 24 hours mark. We just got our dinner (nasi lemak) and right now are listening to Bee Gees Greatest Hits over the PA which made me wonder whether they are trying to made us sleep or what lulz.

So far, around 12 pple have been DQ’ed overall. Most of this are pertaining the allocated break time and log time recording. Hope we not gonna lose more. GWR pple going to do a headcount at midnight, the organizer looked pretty nervous about it.

2132: Eh, there’s a DoTA Tournament in the LAN Party itself. Only heard of it today, weird. It’s happening right now and are shoutcasted by the awesome guys at Gamestah.

2218: Last call for break is at 10:30pm, as the GWR rep will check the venue again at 11:00pm. Crucial moment, yes? Meanwhile, it’s time for GRID!

2256: MEXICAN WAVE WOOOHOOOOO~~, we did couple round of ‘em. \m/

2300: GWR rep just started counting the number of pple. Hope it counts well.

2340: The organizers has just passed us a Sapphire ATI Radeon 4650 HD graphic card as the prize for the Race Driver: GRID Mini Tournament coming in a short while wohooo!

Also, Play-Beyond community members and Games Monster guys already here to setup PlayStation 3 gathering starting at midnite up till closing ceremony. Within short notices, the 50 slots was almost filled to the bring. Salute to the PS3 pples!

2400: 24 hours mark! 14 more hours to be in the next issue of Guiness World Records Gamer’s Edition XD

2600: The GRID Mini Tournament concluded around half an hour ago and the graphic card goes to…bulibuli!

They also finally distributed the Red Bull drinks the right way. Kudos!

2711: 11 more hours left, everybody pretty much cooked, lots already went into yoyo nap state, your truly included. Continuing my single player CoD4:MW campaign. Also, sorting out additional pictures for our Flickr gallery.

2735: One LAN participant has been DQ’ed because that he took his break 3 minutes longer than he should. So kesian la, so close yet so far. Anyho, they having lucky draw again…and yours truly number is yet to be up.

3022: Hey hey, looks like we already passed the 30th hour mark, only 8 more to go. It ain’t easy as it sounded though, as everyone are struggling to stay awake. Me personally already sick of 3D games and now playing (again) Bejeweled 2.

3030: They showed Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen trailer on the big screen and then followed by…Russell Peters? LULZ, nah…only a small bit is shown, most probably want to test something.

We do need some entertainment though…oh yeah, another guy just DQ’ed himself as well. Adoi~

3132: More trailers on big screen - Wolverine, Star Trek, Fast & Furious, G.I.Joe, Monsters vs Aliens. Great to know that there lots of great upcoming movies to be watched. What better is that the breakfast will arrive in an hour time. Yay!

3301: Sorry for the lack of updates, my energy level has went down completely and I’m barely awake right now. I wonder IGood news though, more pictures has just been uploaded into our Flickr.

GWR rep going to be here again at 10am and will stayed here up till 2pm, where the record attempt will end. So, till then, I have to continuesly playing games and can’t feed you guys with updates.

3348: Bath settled and now having my breakfast - bihun mee. No more long break after this, when the GWR rep is here, so might gonna catch a lil nap before he comes.

3627: We just surpassed the current record set at Nvision’08. AMD even put out a nice banner for Nvidia. We’ll posted it once we got the chance.

3749: Raj asked everybody over the PA, whether we want to extend the record to 40 hours. In the spirit of patriotic Malaysians and 1337 gamers, the answer was a resounding “YES!” from majority of the crowd.

Can’t help to say, “This is madness. This is LAN PARTYYYYY!” *kick*

3922: Just took the much needed toilet break. Did the girl that using the logging laptop just sassed at me? Got nothing against her, but you can’t answer - “Kalau takde, then jangan keluarlah. “, when people asked politely to you, right? I understand that she worked long hours for this event, it still not justified to be sooo sassy.

3931: Only 30 minute to go…it’s not that long after all.

3936: Second headcounting by GWR starting soon. When the last time that people woke you up from sleep and asked you to play games? Me personally, none so far. This is the 1st time.

4000: THIS IS IT! WE DID IT! Malaysian gamers showed that their really made of win by successfully concluding the longest mass-participation LAN Party ever at 40 hours, 4 hours longer than the previous record hold by Nvision’08.

Fist in the air, high fives are changed and hands shaken, congratulating each other for a job well done. The event doesn’t end yet since prize & certification giving ceremony is scheduled at 5:30pm, but this is where our live blog stops for Cyber Fusion’09 ends. Till next time, good game!
