Cyber Fusion 2009 @ Cyberjaya: Three More Days Kinda Updates

The heat is on! CF’09 @ CJ banners already visible throughout Cyberjaya.

As we stated in the post’s title, only 4 days to go before the most ambitious game festival in the country - Cyber Fusion 2009, take place at Multimedia University, Cyberjaya starting this Friday. Registration will be open for the mob participants to check-in their PCs at 3pm at the university’s Grand Hall.

Lots of updates (we mean really-really a lot) was thrown around since the last post that we did, so let’s take a look at them, after the jump.

We will be there at the event, so do poke us and say, “What are you selling?” just like this video. You shall be rewarded. ;)

One Nation LAN Party World Record Breaking Attempt

This is the event general schedule for all record breaking attempt participants:

Friday, 10th April 2009
3pm - 9pm: Participants check-in with PCs
9pm: Dinner for participants are served.
11pm: LAN Party starts!

Sunday, 12th April 2009
1pm: Record breaking attempt clock stops. Celebration!

For those who already received registration confirmation from the organizer, AMD processor are waiting for them - if they are a part of the first 250 record breaker…The processor will be AMD Athlon X2 (said to be 7000+, but we are not sure which one), with AMD Phenom X4 will be randomly given. It is a part of the goodies bag which will include a t-shirt, certificate and bunch of mystery swags.

Apart from AMD processors, Sapphire ATI Graphic Cards will be given out periodically as well as lucky draw.

Interestingly, our friends at Lowyat.NET Forums has assembled a huge army specially for this event. Want to be part of the army? Follow the thread HERE.

Not to forget, Online e-Club will also threw couple of for mini-tournament within the LAN Party itself, with thousands of Ringgit Malaysia will be up for grabs. Expect hardcore actions from Valve’s established FPS lineup such as Counter-Strike 1.6 & Source, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2. More information HERE.

Last but not least…this might break some hearts…participants list already full. If you don’t mind to be on the waiting list (which already huge number of names in there), you can try your luck by submitting the registration forms.

One Nation Tournament

Actual prize list is as below, with a total cash prizes of RM up for grabs:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Champion: RM2,500
1st Runner-Up: RM1,500
2nd Runner-Up: RM1,000
3rd Runner-Up: RM750
5th - 8th Place: RM325 Each

Prizes are for each PAM4 & PROMOD division. PAM4 starts on Saturday and PROMOD starts on Sunday.

Defense of The Ancients
Champion: RM5,000 + Sapphire ATI Graphic Cards
1st Runner-Up: RM3,000
2nd Runner-Up: RM2,000
3rd Runner-Up: RM1,500
5th - 8th Place: RM650 Each

FIFA’09
Champion: RM1,500 + Sapphire ATI Graphic Cards
1st Runner-Up: RM1,000
2nd Runner-Up: RM500
3rd Runner-Up: RM350
5th/6th Place: RM225 Each
7th/8th Place: RM125 Each

DoTA & FIFA’09 to be played daily.

Sudden Attack
Champion: RM8,000 + Sapphire ATI Graphic Cards + In game items
1st Runner-Up: RM5,000 + In game items
2nd Runner-Up: RM3,000 + In game items
3rd Runner-Up: RM2,000 + In game items
5th Place: RM1,500 + In game items
6th Place: RM1,000 + In game items
7th Place: RM500 + In game items
8th Place: RM300 + In game items

GameFest’09

As you might knew, this section of Cyber Fusion 2009 @ Cyberjaya will be conducted by MMU Cyberjaya’s Game Developers Club. So far, this is how the rough schedule for GameFest looked like:

  • Console Party: Daily - starting at 10am with Street Fighter IV and Wii Sports mini competition to be held on Friday and Saturday respectively.
  • CodePlay 2: Friday, 10th April - starting at 9am up till 4:30 pm.
  • Board & Card Games Tournament: Saturday, 11th April - starting at 9am until 9pm, featuring World of Warcrft TCG and Blokus
  • Future Creator Game Seminar (MMU students only): Sunday, 12th April - starting at 9am till 2:30pm

Among all these activities, so far only prizes for CodePlay 2 are known, which are:

Champion: ATI Graphic Card + Valve Orange Box + certificate
1st Runner up: Valve Orange Box + certificate
2nd Runner up: Portal + certificate


Well, that’s all the updates that we managed to gather so far. Apart from all these madness, there are still things to see for those who just want to take a look around the event. For example, Digital Games Showcase and GameFest Overclocking Showcase. We shall see you there then! :D
