Of course you can be as lansi as you want, if you can beat the hell out of other teams in this tournament featuring strong 64 teams from six (now seven) country lineup.

Starting 28th March, the local gaming outfit UCpro will be hosting the first season of IMBALanC’09 - a regional online DoTA tournament series. It is open for competitors from seven ASEAN countries: Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The first season of IMBALanC’09, which uses the strict single elimination format, has been opened for registration since early this month. 64 participants slots are opened for all teams around the region to register and around half of the that amount has been confirmed. That doesn’t mean the remaining slots are empty though as many teams now just waiting in the list for their registration to go through.

Mainly sponsored by ToteDaddy.com - an online betting company, the first season of IMBALanC’09 offered around RM 5800 (USD 1600) in cash prizes. It is just a teaser of total cash purse of RM 36,000 (USD 10,000) which will be spread throughout the 4 season of IMBALanC’09. Also in hand to support this tournament is Sendi Mutiara Multimedia and GameAxis Malaysia.

The registration is free of charge and was supposed to end today, but UCpro has been kind enough to extend the deadline for 3 more extra day. It is your call, people. ;)

This is UCpro 1st international event, if we are not mistaken. What do you think of the tournament format and cash prizes distribution method? Comment away!
