CyberFusion 2009 @ Cyberjaya Officially Defined At Launch Conference

CyberFusion’s official logo was unveiled for the first time.

On Friday, a press conference was held to announce the country’s most ambitious gaming event, the now-officially named CyberFusion 2009 @ Cyberjaya. Organized by Cyberview Sdn. Bhd. and AMD Malaysia, the first ever large scale LAN Party will take place from 10th April to 12th April 2009 at Grand Hall, MMU Cyberjaya.

The press conference was led by Redza Rafiq, the Managing Director of Cyberview Sdn. Bhd. AMD was represented by Vice President of AMD Malaysia, Dato’ Dr Mohd Sofi Osman, supported by John Docherty - AMD Inc’s Senior Vice President for Global Operations (yes, all the way from States) and Neoh Soon Ee - AMD Inc’s Vice President, Manufacturing Operations (Singapore). Also in attendance was Dato’ Badlisham Ghazali, CEO of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC).

At the event, almost everything about Cyber Fusion was finally fully defined. From main events, side events and event partners whom was unknown previously, was unveiled in its full glory. Since we not going to bore you with unnecessary details, jump in for the brief important details now.

First of all, let’s see what does the two organizers got to say about the event.

Next, what CyberFusion got to offer throughout it’s 3 days of pure gaming:

One Nation Cyberjaya: Combining the determination of 250 strong gamers and 38 hours of non-stop gaming for Guinness World Records, this is what One Nation is all about - showcasing a united Malaysian gaming community to the world.

One Nation Invitational: Open tournament for local teams and players featuring Call of Duty 4, Counter-Strike 1.6, DoTA, FIFA’09 and Sudden Attack. The invitational term actually implies to foreign teams & players from all over Asia that will be thrown into the mix to spice up the tournament. Prizes worth more than RM 100,000 will be on the line.

GameFest 2009: Initiative led by Game Developers’ Club of MMU Cyberjaya, it’s all-in-one event featuring:

  • E-Sport’09: was held last weekend at its campus.
  • Consoles Community Gathering
  • Future Games Creation Seminar: Game showcase by students, who will be reviewed by industry experts.
  • Codeplay 2: Game programming competition.
  • Overclocking Workshop: Featuring teams from Lowyat.NET Forums’ Overclockers United
  • Board Games Exhibition
  • Card Games Tournament

Side Events:

  • Digital Games Exhibition: Current and upcoming games showcase by participating game partners, publishers and vendors.
  • Sneak Previews: Showcase from 2009 blockbuster movies.

IMPORTANT: Do note that if you planning to compete in One National Invitational, you can’t participate in the LAN Party record breaking attempt, as it might breach Guinness World Records technical specifications.
