World Cyber Games Announces First Batch Of 2009 Official Games

Recently, World Cyber Games announced the first part of official WCG games for 2009. The announcement came slightly earlier compared to previous years, they listed out three games for PC and two for Xbox 360, as listed below:

PC

• Counter-Strike 1.6
• Starcraft: Brood War
• Warcraft: The Frozen Throne

Xbox 360

• Guitar Hero: World Tour
• Virtua Fighter 5

According to the people at World Cyber Games, Inc., there are a number of reasons why the official games announcement were divided into two. Quoting Hyeong Seok Kim, the president and CEO of the organization that handled everything about WCG:

This year we decided to unveil the games in two separate announcements to pique the interest and anticipation for the official game lineup. As interest in WCG continues to grow around the world, we have become much more discerning in selecting the official games for this year.

More games will be revealed next month, according to the official release. Can’t wait.
