EHOME Dominates SMM Grand National DoTA Tournament 2008 Grand Finals

SMM Grand National DoTA Tournament 2008, the largest DoTA tournament yet in the country came to an end last Sunday. Malaysian teams apparently didn’t get to defend their home turf as international teams took over all Top 3 placings.

EHOME, who flew all the way from China took the champion title home after a flawless performances of 100% win record. The 1st Runner Up holder - Evo’XtC of Singapore performances was no exception as well. After being dropped to Lower’s Bracket by Kingsurf, Evo pretty much climbed back the bracket and rolled over everybody on their way.

2nd Runner Up went to another team from China - CaNt. The highest standings for a Malaysian teams was Kingsurf, who ended the tournament in 4th Place after losing to Evo’XtC in Round 5 of Lower Bracket. Kingsurf was dropped to Lower Bracket by CaNt in Round 2 of Upper Bracket.

During the closing speech, SMM’s President and CEO - Dr. Ricky Lim mentioned that next year’s SGNDT will be bigger and have more to offer than its previous edition. Not to forget, the SMM Grand National DoTA Tournament 2008 also was certified by Malaysia Book of Records with 2 records - “Highest Prize Money In A PC Gaming Tournament” and “Most International Participants In A Single Gaming Event“. I guess the records will be broken next year.
