WGT Malaysia 2008 Day 2 Recap

After a gruesome and long waiting time in Day 1, Day 2 of WGT Malaysia 2008 is slightly more relaxed. No major problems were reported and everything seemed to go on well. That being said, it is still an intense among gamers who qualified from Day 1 as they are now on the way to reach the final four players and teams in the championship.

Call of Duty 4

As expected, CoD 4 competition pretty much conquered by the renowned [ESP] clan, who fielded four teams. Out of these four, three made it into semi-final - Wow, eMo and aXe. From these three, only one made it to the finals. aXe and eMo met each other in the semi-finals while Wow met another well-known team - RnF.

Call of Duty 4 competition generated a lot of crowds from time to time.

In the finals later, [ESP]aXe will fight RnF for the championship and clanmates - [ESP]Wow and [ESP]eMo will be fighting for 3rd place.

Counter-Strike 1.6

Arch-rival LZ.UCpro and Hybrid were at it again after pitted against each other for the past few tournaments. Both met each other at the start of Top 8 bracket with the former prevail against the latter and threw them into the lower brackets. LZ then rolled everybody else in upper bracket for a place in the finals.

A Counter-Strike match is underway.

Hybrid then worked their way up as usual through lower brackets and redeem themselves another shot at L at the finals later although they are now at a disadvantage since LZ who came for the upper bracket already received an automatic 1 - 0 score advantage.

The 3rd place winner belong to qTp.

FIFA’08

Being the biggest brackets among WGT official games, it was another long and winding road for FIFA’08. The biggest surprise from the tournament were in the form of [MyFES]Snake, who have been absent from the scene for quite some time due to career commitment. He pretty much roll over all his opponent and booked a place in the finals against the WCG Malaysia 2008 champion, [W|nDs]Vin.

[MyFES] or [W|nDs] - which one will prevail?

In the 3rd/4th placing later, [W|nDs]Rei will meet [MyFES]Warrior. We shall know soon who is going to go home empty handed…

Need for Speed ProStreet

Again, NFSPS was the game to finish their competition yesterday. Using single-elimination brackets, the absence of WCG Malaysia 2008 champion, M1-Heaven from WGT opened up the competition to couple of lesser known racers. As usual, the veterans - FoRza and Liang made it to the final four with the addition of Redbull_Y2K (of KL Taufan fame) and SpeedDemon.

‘Em racing wheels. Lots of them.

FoRza and Redbull will battle for the championship title while Liang and SpeedDemon will determine between 3rd and 4th placing.
