Red Alert 3 Officially Launched In Malaysia

After 7 years, the third chapter of Red Alert chronicles in EA’s Command & Conquer franchise was finally released to the mass public yesterday in all over the world. Here in our own backyard, a huge launch was held to celebrate the event. Interestingly, Red Alert 3 is the first Electronic Arts product ever to receive a local launch here in Malaysia.

We don’t really have much to say, so how about we just jump straight ahead for pictures and stuff?

The queue at 3:50pm. The line is loooongggg!

The celebration was held at Leo’s Cafe, SS 2, Petaling Jaya packed with throngs of C&C franchise fans who already lined up since 11 am. Complete with their pre-order cards and C&C t-shirt all…yes guys, it is a trend nowadays to line up for a game during its launch day. It is a very healthy activity, you know.

Wheeee, time to pickup the game! - some of these guys already waited since 11 am.

Before the game was actually distributed to their respective buyers, the game launch ceremony took place inside the cafe. Right after opening speeches by Gamers Dotcom and EA Singapore representatives, media members were treated to the RA3 launch trailer and straight after that, the impressive C&C BattleCast PrimeTime Malaysia Special! Specially made for the launch event, we are now trying to get the video from EA so you guys who were not there yourselves can check out the awesomeness it holds.

While waiting for lucky draw, gamers mingle around with themselves while enjoying the food provided. Some took the opportunity to snap few pictures with the CnC models and some joined the long queue to test out the game on two machines provided. It was indeed a really long wait. In between, there was also Q&A sessions and also the screening of the C&C BattleCast PrimeTime Malaysia Special that media members enjoyed earlier.

GAHHHHH, HAND SO STIFF, IMBALANCE! - Another unfortunate gamer became a victim of teh hand wrestling.

Just before the draw took place, a mini game was held to amuse those who stayed for the draw. Dubbed as the “survival of the fittest“, gamers that involved in the hilarious competition was asked to hand wrestle the tightest muscle that organizers got to offer that night. Whoever passed the damn IMBA hand wrestling ( ) were then pitted against each other. Both finalist of the night received a killer RA3 polo shirt.

It was then the time for lucky draw. Tons of stuff were on the line such as RA3 limited edition mugs, Corsair RAMs and thumb drives. Of course, the big draw was the grand prize of a gaming-spec PC combined together with high-end stuff from Corsair and Gigabyte. Xenogears86 totally own the night when he was announced the winner of the uber PC. Even before that, he already won himself a RA3 polo shirt from the mini games held earlier. Total domination, bro!

It was indeed a great event (apart from the long lucky draw wait) and we are quite pleased to see how EA is being supportive to this event which in a way, is like a recognition to our market. We asked Gamers Dotcom if they have plans to organize another product launch and they looking forward to held it again, provided there is significant support. So guys, keep on buying ‘em originals and we shall see more of these events coming our way soon enough.
