WGT Malaysia Confirms 2008 Dates and Venue

With around one month to go, the WGT Malaysia organizing team just confirmed the dates and venue for the 2008 edition of WGT Malaysia. I bet many already eager to know the juicy details, so without further due, here they are:

Hall 2, Mid Valley Exhibition Center, Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur
WGT Malaysia 2008 Gaming Area: 31 Oct - 2 Nov 2008 (Friday – Sunday)

Centre Court, Mid Valley Megamall
WGT Malaysia 2008 Opening Ceremony: 31 Oct 2008 (Friday) - 10.30 am
WGT Malaysia 2008 Closing Ceremony : 2 Nov 2008 (Sunday) - 3.00 pm
ASUS Roadshow: 29 Oct - 2 Nov 2008 (Wednesday – Sunday)

As you can see, there is some slight change to initial information that we all saw in a newspaper back in July. The dates still remain the same but the event venue is now separated into two place (three if you count the 2nd roadshow venue) in one same building. I don’t know the reason to separate them but I personally feel it would be much better if they put everything in Megamall’s Centre Court as per their initial plan. There will be more crowd to spread the eSports love around.

It is also not yet known whether the grand finals for each game will be played at Centre Court or not. Another details that is still missing is the prize distribution. That being said, ASUS did mentioned that the total prize are valued at more than RM 50,000.

Apart from the dates and venue confirmation, the organizing team also mentioned that they already opened up registration for the event. The first 200 registered members will receive a free movie tickets. The registration has been online for sometime, so better be fast.
