How Lowyat.NET (Almost) Won The Intel Asia PC Gaming Showdown

Date September 18, 2008 by Chapree

This is (not) our trophy.

Intel Asia PC Gaming Showdown is the latest eSports initiative by the giant processor maker and the Malaysian leg of the event was held earlier this week at FTZ Asia.net in Subang Jaya. Five media members and four local gamers were pitted against each other in three games by Electronic Arts - Crysis, NFS ProStreet and FIFA’08.

The office’s usual game slave couldn’t make it (gah!), so our editor Wern Shen went up and took the challenge for Lowyat.NET. Despite being first timer in all of the three games, Wern Shen managed to do quite well by scoring the highest score among media members.

Aiyoh, another goal bolooosss!! - Wern Shen

At the end of the day, the championship trophy went to the reigning Asia’s FIFA champion, [W|nDs]Si_Jali. With that victory, Si_Jali is now in the running for a Grand Finals at EA Experience, Hong Kong as his scores will be compared with other winners from the region and only the overall top 3 players will made it to HK.

Meanwhile, Wern Shen received (extra) thumb drive for his achievement. Check out his full account of the event at Lowyat.NET frontpage.
