ESWC Announces First Batch Of 2009 Official Games

Couple of days ago, the Electronic Sports World Cup people has announced the first list of official games for ESWC 2009.
- Counter-Strike 1.6
- Counter-Strike 1.6 Female
- Quake 3 Arena (or Quake Live, depends on its release date)
- Trackmania Nations Forever
- Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne
This list is basically the same for the past few years but Do note that there will be more games coming into the list, as indicated in the announcement at ESWC’s official website. Given hint were football and RTS games. Will the popular Pro Evolution Soccer/Winning Eleven make a return then? I hope so. I predict the other RTS game should be DoTA given the huge hype generated during the 2008 Grand Finals at San Jose.
Seeing that ESWC Malaysia is already back in business this year, I believe this announcement is basically a teaser for 2009 edition. That also means you can start practice now.

Hmm i agree that DotA should be made into the official games list. as you know how big it is around the world. due to the feel of fighting a sentinel vs scourge war never fails to be bored.
And hope Trackmania nations can be made into state qualifiers. so maybe i can decide to participate it.

i hope they put the upcoming red alert 3 in. its should be there, anyway. just my thought.
Chapree: Red Alert 3…i predict that game will be included in WCG instead. WCG and EA have a long history together.
