Lowyat.NET LAN Party 2005
Lowyat.NET’s own LAN Party was held back in 2005. Guess which one is se7en?

16 August 2008 is going to be a very busy day for local gaming community. First, there’s the whole WCG Malaysia 2008 she bang and also, the Merdeka Winning Eleven Tournament. The circle is now complete when Game Developers Club of MMU Cyberjaya has recently announced that they are going to organize a LAN Party.

LAN Party, where couple of people gathers together in one place together with their PCs and/or consoles to play games together, is a very foreign concept to our gamers but is a norm outside Malaysia. The size and purpose of LAN Party varies from one event to another event. Some are a mix of tournaments and some are purely for fun just like the upcoming LAN Party by MMU’s GDC.

The LAN Party will be held at MMU Cyberjaya’s Faculty of Information Technology Exhibition Room located at the 1st floor of the faculty’s building. In case you got lost in the building, look for room with transparent glass as its wall or look for the room number FIT CR1001. The LAN Party will take place throughout the whole Saturday and all necessities such as table, chair, network and refreshment will be provided. What you need to do is just bring your PC and games along. ;)

There could be a minimum entry fee but GDC haven’t decided how much it will be. If you are thinking to get away from the serious competition atmosphere during that weekend, this LAN Party should be great for you. It’s back to basic, alright. :D
