MSC Malaysia IP Creators Challenge Series Is Back

I’m sure many game developers out there already aware of this, but if you aren’t, it still not too late to join. MSC Malaysia under their Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) is currently having the MSC Malaysia IP Creators Challenge, a competition targeted to nourish locally-made digital creative contents.
There are 4 categories altogether in this edition of MSC Malaysia IPCC:
- Computer Casual Game
- Animation
- Digital Interactive Comic
- Mobile Edutainment Content
Under the Computer Casual Games category, participants are required to submit a proposal of their best take on casual games. Think of games along the lines of Tetris and Diner Dash, you’ll get the idea. The platform of choice for this category will be PC and the closing date for submission is on 31st July 2008.
Winners will be awarded a RM 50,000 grant, which then be used to turn their pitch into reality complete with a 30 to 45 minute worth of gameplay. A daunting task indeed but if you think that your l337 game idea is the next big thing, why don’t give MSC Malaysia IPCC a try?

Bullshit. The industry mentors/judges are not qualified to pick any projects out of this contest.
It’s always the same bunch of cronies who would be the judges for the casual games when they themselves are not doing anything related to casual games or have any experience making money from casual games.
Bunch of farce. Mentorship is as good as letting your competitor have access to your projects.

Yes, I agree! Hey did you know recently one of the winners titled ‘The Returning’ from IPCC 2009 Competition is COPIED DIRECTLY from a page from a recently published graphic novel Scary Ever After(MPH) by John Ho!!!
What a RIP-OFF!! Can they do this sort of thing?? I guess local comic judges don’t really care about originality to award 20k to a copycat loser!!=(
