For FIFA and NFS, Day 2 saw the final four players from each game, competing against each other before they can proceed and challenge 2007 champions for a slot at WCG Asian Championship this August. At the same time, DoTA qualifiers were held inside the tournament room all day long.

Just before the Asian WCG qualifiers continues, a launch ceremony was held to mark the beginning of WCG Malaysia 2008 . The ceremony was officiated by Deputy Secretary General of Ministry of Youth & Sports, Muhamad Batri.

During the ceremony, Paul Yan of Warcraft 3 fame received an award for Longest Running Champion in the WCG Malaysia. Paul has been winning WC3 title at WCG Malaysia since 2003 which equal to 5 years in a row.

In NFS, the final four players were then separated into two matches - [r0r1]m00tsumi vs. M1-SpeedDemon and M1-Heaven vs M1-InControlz. m00tsumi and Heaven managed to beat their respective opponents and were then met each other for the final battle to determined the opponent that will challenge last year’s NFS champ, FoRza for a trip to Asian WCG Championship 2008.

“Do you got what it takes to meet us at WCG Malaysia 2008?” - M1-Heaven and FoRza.

M1-Heaven who was last year’s 1st Runner Up in NFS Carbon, has no problem defeating m00tsumi with his flawless racing skills. Still, he didn’t managed to get pass through FoRza who in fact, was even a better driver than Heaven and left everyone in the audience with a “wtf, haxorz!” look on their face.

The drill was also the same for FIFA’08, where the four players were divided into pairs - [W|nDs]Vin against [MyFES]Warrior and [W|nDs]Lo0n4tic vs. [W|nDs]A13x. Vin and Lo0n4tic were then met in the finals which saw Vin making a comeback in the 2nd match after losing to Lo0n4tic 2-0 in the 1st match.

Before Vin can proceed to Singapore, he must first beat yet another of his clanmate, [W|nDs]Si_Jali. Unfortunately, Si_Jali successfully defended his right to represent Malaysia at Asian WCG Championship this year by defeating Vin with a close 2 - 1 aggregate.

Next, it was DoTA turns. As expected, the registration went a little haywire when a zerg rush (lulz) happened right after the registration is open. According to many of the players, everybody lined up properly at first before the rush happened. The incident forced some of the teams out of the competition due to slot limitation, including top teams such as MKVL.

Nevertheless, the competition continues on throughout the day almost without stopping. Around 16 teams showed off their determination and skills before they can challenge Tbun-W4si, who was waiting at the top of bracket. From 16 teams, it was later trimmed down to 4 teams : DNA_WNG, Kingsurf, W4SI_RST and Cybertime_GOV.

As the clock ticked closer to midnight, Kingsurf managed to topple down the other three teams and booked themselves a match with Tbun-W4si. Both teams were favorites to win this qualifier but only one team will be able to represent Malaysia and it was Kingsurf who got the honor after they defeated their final opponent of the night.

There we have it, folks. Malaysian team for WCG Asian Championship 2008 has been assembled with players that have lots of experience and achievement. Rest assured, we all now can put our hope on FoRza, [W|nDs]Si_Jali and Kingsurf to grab top honors at the regional tournament.

Multiplay will be at WCG Asian Championship this coming August to follow the Malaysian contingent adventures at the event. This might be too early to say but the possibility of live coverage as per WCG Asian Championship 2007 is huge. So, stay tune folks! ;)
