WCG Malaysia 2008 Kick-Off Day 1 Recap
May 31, 2008 by Chapree
The WCG Malaysia 2008 campaign is yet to be officially launched (that will be today, by the Minister of Youth & Sports Malaysia, YB Dato’ Ismail Sabri Yaacob) but the Kick-Off event has started yesterday right in front of Low Yat Plaza entrance, KL.
Apart from the usual fun promo activities, the event also incorporated the WCG Asian Championship 2008 Qualifiers. The qualifiers starts with FIFA’08 and NFS ProStreet on Day 1 yesterday while Day 2 will see the DoTA qualifiers.
The competition yesterday saw 4 players from each game managed to topped each of their group. These players will play against each other today to determine the player who will challenge last year WCG Malaysia champion, namely [W|nDs]Si_Jali for FIFA and FoRza for Need for Speed. They are:
FIFA’08
- [W|nDs]Vin
- [W|nDs]LoOn4tic
- [W|nDs]A13x
- [MyFES]Warrior
NFS ProStreet
- [r0r1]m00tsumi
- M1-Heaven
- M1-InControlz
- M1-SpeedDemon
Overall, Day 1 was quite a breeze, except for the heavy rain in the middle of the event. Registration went well, despite some FIFA’08 players had to be turned away due to participation slots limit have been reached. The event area was quite happening with activities at sponsors booth and stage activities such as band jam competition, auction and trivia.
That’s all for Day 1. On to Day 2 then!
