So Close Yet So Far: KL Taufan Ended CGS Pan-Asian 2008 At Semi-Finals

After overcoming Singapore Sword earlier today, there is only one step left between KL Taufan, pro gaming contract and the CGS World Final - win the Semi Finals against Sydney Underground. Unfortunately, the Aussies were too strong for Taufan and the match ended as the worst defeat for Taufan in their Pan-Asian 2008 campaign.

The battle begin with FIFA’08, the weakest link of Sydney Underground. Taufan’s rep Si_Jali punished Sydney’s disadvantages with 0 - 2 lead. But after that, it all went down the drain for Taufan. All other games suffered huge defeat on the hand of Sydney Underground. 5 - 2 in FM2, 5 - 0 in DoA4 Female, 5 - 1 in DoA4 Male and the most unexpected, 15 - 3 in CS Source!

Despite the huge 30 - 8 lost to Sydney, Taufan should be applauded for their overall increase in performance. Thanks to the round robin format, Taufan received a lot of benefits from the two lower teams in the competition. Taufan’s console section are still the main contributor to Taufan point deficit but they did perform considerably better compared to last year’s performance.

Too bad that this year CGS only took two teams to represent Region 5 at World Finals. Congratulations to Sydney Underground and Wuhan Dragon for the achievement and to KL Taufan, better luck next time. We all proud of you guys.
