Microsoft Drops Xbox 360 Price For Asia

Microsoft announced yesterday that they are going to reduce the price on Xbox 360 at majority of their official Asian markets, namely Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan. The price drop rate which are different in each region and will be around 5% - 20% from the original price.

Since our market sourced most of their 360s from Singapore, I guess this news will certainly affect the price of 360s in our country. Below are the new price tag for Singaporean market:

Arcade Xbox 360: SGD 399 (RM 924) - 13.1% cut

Premium Xbox 360: SGD 499 (RM 1,160) - 19.5% cut

Elite Xbox 360: SGD 699 (RM 1,625) - 12.5% cut

Is it a good time to get a 360? Well, it depends. Many analysts said that the price could be lower during upcoming months since the Sony PlayStation 3 are finally gaining momentum. It is interesting to see how our local retailers going to react to the new price.
