AMD Giving Away RM 300,000 Of Prizes At European Soccer Challenge 2008

AMD has recently announced that they are going held an online FIFA’08 tournament called AMD European Soccer Challenge 2008. Held in partnership with WCGZone.com, the tournament is giving out total prize package worth around RM 316,000 (US$ 100,000) in the form of PCs, ATi graphic cards and AMD processors.
The tournament is divided into 4 ladders. Each ladder lasted around 12 days, which registration will be closed at 2 days before the ladder’s final day. All matches is played using WCGZone.com matchmaking software - GameOn. You can check out the full rules HERE.
While all gamers around the world can join and win prizes in this tournament, only European players can proceed to the tournament’s finals on 15th June. That being said, if the top players in a ladder were non-European, they are still eligible to win the prizes that they are entitled to. So, there’s still something to gain there.
Apart from the tournament ladders, AMD also held several parallel events to further support the tournament. Not to forget, AMD launced the whole event with a special invitational tournament which the best 32 European FIFA’08 player were invited to join. The event was won by Poland’s rep, PGS|Pio.

Munich, Germany April 25th - The AMD European Soccer Challenge 2008 online tournament presented by WCGZONE starts from April 26th until June 15th. Gamers from across Europe as well as the participants from other parts of world are invited to join in four ladder tournaments and compete with latest Electronic Arts FIFA games.

In addition to the tournament for casual gamers, AMD and WCGZONE will invite the best 32 European EA FIFA game players to participate in an All-Star tournament.
The ladder tournament will be divided into four seasons. The gamers are allowed to register at any time during the ladder and join the competition by installing WCGZONE ‘GamOn’ software program. In ladder tournaments, each competitor is ranked in skill according to the win/loss records. Wins against higher ranked players will move the player higher up on the ladder, while wins against lower ranked players will move the player only slightly up the ladder. This ensures that the best players will be at the top of the ladder at the end of the tournament.
