MGS4 Received Late Q2 Release Date + A 80GB PS3 Bundle

The wait is over. The savior will be here soon! Metal Gear Solid 4 has finally received a release date! Well, sort of…

According to press release from Sony, the much anticipated stealth game will be released in North American around late second quarter of this year. In conjunction with the release, they also will release a special MGS4 PlayStation 3 bundle that contains an 80GB PS3, Dual Shock 3 and of course, the game itself. The price tag will be around RM 1,605 (USD 499.99).

Sony also mentioned that with each pre-order of MGS4, buyers will secure a spot in MGS Online beta test this April. MGS Online is a separate game but almost identical to MGS4 world. A “starter pack” will be included in MGS4 to give players a glimpse into the parallel online world of MGS.

The announcement was made at Destination PlayStation, a retailers only conference happening right now at Arizona, USA. Over at the tubes, apparently words that came out from retailers whom attended the conference are pointing to 12 June 2008 as the “actual” release date.

As you can see from the announcement from Sony, there was no mention of exact release date. Only “late Q2 2008” is written there. Kinda contradicting each other, don’t you think? Don’t worry, the game will be out sooner or later. I can almost heard Sony fanboys humming The Imperial March tune already…
