End Of The Road For Team Malaysia and Kingsurf At MYM Prime Series
February 22, 2008 by Chapree

Malaysian DoTA teams has been eliminated from the high profile online tournament, MYM Prime Series. This goes for both Kingsurf, the only local team left in PriDe #9 playoff and also Team Malaysia at Prime Nations #2.
Kingsurf superb winning streak seems to have ended after MYM lifted their previous ban on the team. Kingsurf fell to lower brackets after being defeated by TeG, a team from Romania. Ks was eliminated from the tournament when they lost to Ukraine’s WG in the 3rd round of lower bracket.
Meanwhile, at Prime Nations #2, Team Malaysia managed to score a win against Germany but was forced to forfeit other matches in group D. The reason cited is conflicting schedules and bad connections as summed up by Underminer in his comment at MYM site:
“We cant play Sg today while Sg can gather a full team according to Ant. Malaysia forfeits vs Sg.
Poland “refuse” to play Malaysia due to multiple change of dates when Ks plays TEG and WG respectively which games started at 1 am for us and simply got “tired” rescheduling.
Israel only contacted me 2 days ago on MYM mail and no word from them again. So I do not know what to do with them also.
Against Rusia we picked a neutral host which is good for the first 30 mins and then got laggy as the game goes on. Due to the rush of time (very late for us VP has another game scheduled) , the team decided to forfeit to save the hassle for both teams.
Did reasonably well against Germany , picking up our only win. the mKvL players lagged a lot that game testimony of the connection problem that plagues this team since the start of Pride 9 in the LAN shop they are playing from.
Overall , another bad outing for Malaysia. I apologise for on behalf of the team for the fans who supported us and can only for better planning and connections next Pride for Malaysia.“
While it is true that TMnet was not being really helpful for the past a week or so, but I also would like to point out that PriDe #9 and Nations #2 was held at almost the same time. I don’t understand why MYM need to do it at the same time which left the tournament wide open to the threat of scheduling conflicts.
Well, better luck to Malaysian team next time.
