ESWC Malaysia Administration Confirmed 2008 Edition

Last week, one of our readers spotted Jalur Gemilang at ESWC International website, which gave the impression that ESWC Malaysia will finally make a return this year after missing out in 2007. Today, we got the confirmation that ESWC Malaysia is indeed making a comeback.

Earlier today, I gave a call to Jasmine Low, the co-founder and director of Go International Group, the company that is responsible for ESWC Malaysia 2008 and beyond.

According to Jasmine, they are indeed very new in gaming industry but they have been working on similar youth-related events since 5 years ago. Many of these projects involved music and independent artists which as per gaming, are a part of youth culture.

Since Go International Group are still negotiating with a number of potential sponsors, a number of information is still pending such as official games list, venues and prizes. That being said, the progress have been going on well so far, said Jasmine. More information will be revealed during their upcoming press conference in March this year as they want to make sure everything is its place before announcing it to the public.

Regarding the event venue, Jasmine also mentioned that the Finals will be held in downtown Kuala Lumpur, most probably in an area with easy public access. There will also be several ESWC Malaysia related events during the weeks counting down to the Finals, so they are currently looking for potential cybercafes as venue for these pre-Finals event.
