Rock Band Coming To Asia In Jan 2008?

The attack of giant Rock Band Special Edition box.
While I was looking for info about the upcoming EA Play 2008 (more on that later), I saw this oh-my-god-there-goes-my-savings news from the event management company that handled several of EA Singapore events:

EA GAME LAUNCH EVENT: ROCK BAND
Rock Band is a new game from EA being done in conjunction with MTV. It is a game where you get to play instruments hooked up to the console and play: the guitar, bass, drums or singing. The game has about 50 tracks on it. It is a major launch for EA and set to be another winning game in the market.

You see, Xbox 360 version of Rock Band is region locked and for now, there’s no Asian version for it. Even Harmonix themselves confirmed it to our forumer, Sd-RawK-Cab25 in their email reply. If the Asian launch is really going to happen, we can look forward for official support and most probably cheaper price tag since the delivery charges should be a lil bit cheaper eh?
PlayStation 3 folks have no problem getting Rock Band from any region (our own Terence just bought one, I’m so jealous 
) as PS3 doesn’t have regional locks. But some word of warning though. If you encounter some trouble with your RB unit, you going to have some time figuring out how to claim warranty for them since the game itself is not officially available in this region yet and obviously, our local EA distro can’t help you out.

Since my fender was giving problems, cannot sync with the dongle, decided to give it back to the seller. Will be getting back a full refund and now waiting for the Asian version which hopefully will be out next month.
