KODE5 SEA & SingTel GXL Season 2 Finals 2007 Day 3 Coverage
December 16, 2007 by Chapree
Konnichiwa, minna-san…ok, that’s wrong, we are not at Japan…yet. So, it should be…good day, everyone! Yes, welcome to the second day of KODE5 Southeast Asia & Singtel GXL Season 2 Finals 2007 remote coverage here at Multiplay. This coverage was also made possible due to feed from folks at GameSync.net and GXL who are there at the battle arena, so don’t forget to give them some love.
Just a recap of yesterday, after a throngs of our players got booted from the tournament, only 2 teams and 1 player left in the tournament. They are Pin - rated as the best Orc player in the country, in Top 8 stage of both KODE5 SEA and GXL, Kingsurf - the recent SMM Grand National DotA Tournament champion, in GXL DotA lower bracket semi finals and GH.Beta - two of the country’s best Xbox 360 FPS player, in GXL Halo 3 2vs2 Top 8 stage. It is indeed an all-star lineup I must say.
Yes, I still haven’t got any updates for KODE5. I’m still trying to source the news everywhere since GameSync are not updating as they should (I wonder why…) but so far, I failed to get any. Will post it up as soon as it’s available. (UPDATE: Yes, the updates already in!)
How far can they go today? Just keep on reading more for the coverage of the event.

[1:00pm]:
- Kingsurf defeated Impreza this morning and are fighting against Zenith in lower bracket’s finals. This mean Kingsurf already booked at least 2nd runner-up placing. That’s one confirmed achievement already.
[3:00pm]:
- w00t! Kingsurf defeated Zenith! They are going to finals and going to face XcN.Trilogy once again. It’s a Malaysia vs Indonesia showdown, people. *clap2*
[4:00pm]:
- Ah, OxygeN- defeated Pin! Pin is now in the lower bracket and is up against…FsK3.Gosubay, his opponent at KODE5!
[5:00pm]:
- Another defeat for Pin. FsK3.Gosubay have eliminated Pin from the tournament.
- I still fail to get any update on KODE5. Sigh.
- Halo 3 2v2 double elimination matches have begun. GH.Beta opponent will be FsK3.Underrated.
- Marcus of GXL reported that Kingsurf managed to score a win against the Indonesians thus forcing them into a tie-breaker match. Go Kingsurf!!
[6:00pm]:
- The finals between Kingsurf and XcN.Trilogy have finally come into an end. Sadly, Kingsurf lost the match with the final score of 2 - 1. Still, they are going home with SGD 2,000 as a reward for their 1st Runner-Up achievement.
- GH.Beta also lost to FsK3.Underrated which brought them to Halo 3 2v2 lower bracket. Sadly, they also lost their lower bracket’s match against Team.Xtreme.
[6:40pm]:
Finally! Some update from KODE5!!!
- Sadly to say, Team Hybrid didn’t make it to Top 8 stage. Apparently, Team FeelThePain is at the top of their group and only one team can advanced.
- There’s still no news about Pin at KODE5 though. But the chances are pretty slim as he already lost to FsK3.Gosubay during GXL lower bracket match.
[8:45pm]:
Final update of the day!
- Pin actually made it up till semi-final at KODE5. He at first defeated FsK3.gosubay but then fell at the hands of Girlyluck who eventually became the KODE5 SEA Warcraft 3 champion.
- It is not yet known what is Pin final standing, whether 3rd or 4th placing. Still, it’s an awesome show by Pin.
[Monday - 12:00pm]:
- What a news to kick start my morning! It’s my pleasure to announce that Pin received 2nd Runner-Up prize at KODE5. Good going buddy!
That’s the end of Malaysian challenge at 2007 GXL Season 2 Finals. I hope you guys have enjoyed the coverage for the past two days. I would like to give my thanks to Marcus of GXL who did a superb job with his live feed from the venue. I also would like to thank Wei Meng of GameSync.net for his KODE5 update.
Last but not least, you guys! Thanks for tuning in and good game!
