After a throngs of qualifiers in several countries across five regions for the past few months which included our own country, this season’s Championship Series Gaming have finally came to an end. The inaugural 2007 Championship Gaming Series World Finals is finally over at Los Angeles, yesterday.

The World Finals saw a some sort of rematch of both Chicago Chimera and Carolina Core as both of them already met in CGS Region 1 Finals. Core was hoping that they are able to avenge their defeat at Region 1 Finals but instead, they lost to Chimera once again with the score 15 - 27, a even higher margin than before. For that superb victory, Chimera was crowned the 1st CGS World Champion and were rewarded a huge sum of USD 500,000!

Meanwhile, for Asia’s representative, Singapore Sword and Seoul Jinhwa, they only able to receive 5/8th placing and 9/12th placing respectively. All hope was not lost though as Singapore Sword’s Tetra proved himself once again that he is teh DoA 4 master after he emerged as the DoA4 champion of CGS Individual Championship.

Although the season just ended, I already looking forward for the new season next year. After all, I’m having quite a good time covering Malaysian Qualifiers and Pan-Asian Championship few months ago. Rumors on the air said the next season could be happening as early as April’08. Better start your practice now if you thinking of a spot in KL Taufan. ;)

Full standings of CGS World Championship is available after the jump.
