KODE5 Southeast Asia 2007 Announced

Date November 17, 2007 by Chapree

KODE5 South East Asia

The first ever KODE5 Southeast Asia is here! The event features two games: Counter Strike 1.6 and Warcraft 3:FT and it is open ONLY to gamers from the Southeast Asia region. The winners of this tournament will receive a trip to KODE5 Grand Finals in Moscow, Russia plus bunch of other goodies.

The SEA event itself are divided into two parts: online qualifiers and the physical KODE5 SEA Finals. The online qualifiers will be held between 30th November till 2nd December 2007. It is open to a limited number of 32 CS teams and 32 Warcraft players. The champion of this online qualifier will receive a direct seeding to Top 8 stage at KODE5 SEA Finals. The registration for KODE5 SEA online qualifier will be closed on 26 November 2007.

As for the second part of the event, the offline part of KODE5 SEA Finals will be held at Republic Polytechnic, Singapore from 14th December till 16th December 2007. This is where the KODE5 Champion will be crowned and will then represent SEA region to motherland Russia for the Grand Finals. For both part of the event, registration process is done through e-Sports Championship website.

AFAIK for now, only one local team, Team Hybrid already announced their participation publicly. I expect more CS teams and Warcraft players from our country will take up KODE5 SEA challenge soon. But then, KODE5 SEA Finals dates actually clashed with Games Xtreme League Season II Finals. U’oh, troubles ahead?

Chapree: LOL, there’s nothing wrong with that when there’s so little Warcraft 3 melee tournament in our country.
