WCG Grand Finals: FoRza Missed Seattle Due To Visa Problems

Denied a US visa by US Embassy in KL.
A sad news arrived in the midst of Team Malaysia preparations to WCG Grand Finals in Seattle. Our NFS Carbon champion, Sophian “FoRza” Shahirul have been denied a visa by the US Embassy. Since there’s not enough time to reapply the visa, FoRza have been forced to forfeit his spot at Seattle thus leaving Malaysia without any representative in Need For Speed grand finals for the first time ever since 2004.
“It is frustrating but I can’t do anything about it.“, said Forza, clearly expressed his unhappiness about the horrible news. Further asked about his next step and possible participation in upcoming CGS Malaysia, he further said, “I’m not thinking of anything for the moment being. I’m also not sure about participating in CGS Malaysia as I don’t have a Xbox 360 myself. We’ll see how.“.
As for other members of Team Malaysia, only a number of them already got their visas. Speaking earlier to Lisa Chong of In2 Marketing & Consulting Sdn Bhd, only James Foo (Starcraft), [r0r1]Alpha (CnC3) and one of the Hybrid team members already got their visas. The rest of Team Malaysia visas application status will only be known within this week.
I hope this bad news will not affect other members of Team Malaysia and degrade the team’s morale.

Most probably the typical problem of stereotype, Islamic country = terrorism = caution. Its so damn stupid. Well, I hope others will face no problem in their visa application.

@Andrew
2 chinese players, a russian and the whole georgian team also shares the same fate
so the stereotype wont work here
if this really continues, we can really say kthxbai to future WCG GF events at USA

Its really tough to get the U.S visa, even with the supporting documents and information from U.S Sports Commission itself. If they do not want to approve your visa, they can give you 101 reasons to reject. There’s no going around it. Its really depending on your luck..
Too young cannot, studying cannot, working cannot, not working also cannot. We’re really saddened by the news too
