Cybertime|RoA Qualifies to WCG Asian For Malaysia
July 13, 2007 by Chapree

Come this August, WCG Asian Championship 2007 will open it’s curtain at Suntec City, Singapore featuring gamers from 12 Asian countries including ours. 5 games have been chosen as this year’s official games: DotA, Warcraft 3, FIFA 2007, Age of Empires III and Dead or Alive 4 (Xbox 360).
Qualifiers for DotA in Malaysia happened earlier this week as 15 top teams from all over the country were invited to Cybertime OUG Monday to determine who will represent Malaysia to the prestigous event. The qualifier went on till the wee hours of the morning. At 4:30am, Cybertime|RoA emerged as the champion by defeating their own homemate, team Cybertime.
There was some dissatisfaction from the community that feel the qualifiers should be opened to public instead of invitational. But the organizers explained that the decision to held an invitational qualifiers were solely because they were given a very short time by WCG Asian officials to submit the representative. The organizers also explained that all the invited team has to pay certain amount of fee to cover the cost of the qualifier although the champion will be sponsored fully by SMM and In2 (WCG Malaysia’s organizer) to Singapore.
There’s still no official news as who will represented Malaysia for other official WCG Asian Championship games. Words on the air said that last year’s WCG Malaysia champions will receive the spot. We shall see then.
