GotFrag are among the longest standing eSports portal in the world. Starting from coverage on Counter-Strike, Gotfrag has since expanded into other games such as Warcraft 3, Halo, Day of Defeat, Call of Duty and Battlefield. They also have several other key services such as Prime, GameVision, GameSense and GotFrag Scoreboard.

On June 6th, Major League Gaming (MLG), an organization known for their console gaming league announced today that they have accquired Gotfrag.com. President and CEO of GotFrag, Lee Chen commented on the acquisation:

Competitive gaming has always grown organically as the community discovers and enjoys new games and new ways to compete. As gamers, MLG understands and respects the independence of our community and we look forward to working with them to cover, promote and celebrate every aspect of competitive gaming, from grassroots grudge matches to world-class live events.

Meanwhile, Matthew Bromberg, president and CEO of MLG are pretty happy with the future of the merge:

With the addition of GotFrag.com to the MLG portfolio, MLG has been able to bring together all of the top brands in competitive gaming in one place. Our scale, following, and authenticity can’t be found anywhere else in the marketplace.

The force are now stronger with the merge of these two eSports giants. So far, nothing is changed in GotFrag and looks like it’s going to stay that way. Win-win situation for all. :D
