ATI Unveiled First DirectX 10 Card: ATI Radeon HD2000 series

2 weeks ago, a number of our colleagues were among the lucky one that got to see ATI’s latest graphic behind closed door, secured with NDA (that’s non-disclosure agreement for the clueless out there). The NDA has since expired and thus, yesterday was the day to unleash it all to the world.

ATI Radeon HD2000 (previously codenamed as R600) is the first DirectX10 cards from ATI. It also boost a number of first for graphic industry such as 512-bit memory interface, 65 nm manufacturing process and a new Unified Video Decoder. HD2000 family are divided into three segments:
- HD 2900 series: for the horsepower hungry user
- HD 2600 series: for mainstream market
- HD 2400 series: their low-end series
