Two years after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released into the market, the next chapter of the hugely popular first person shooter game from Activision is now ready to hit gamers in all over the world. In fact, Malaysia is one of the first country to receive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as it was released earlier today – right at the stroke of midnight – in Gamer’s Hideout, One Utama Shopping Centre.

As expected, throngs of gamers – estimated to be more than 100 of them – made their way to the newly opened branch of the established game store from as early as 8am to queue up for the game. Yes, you read that right: eight in the morning! Some goodies were given away for those who were early enough to be in the queue including a brand new 32-inch LCD television which was a surprise gift from Gamer’s Hideout to the first gamer in the queue.

All in all, we were informed that more than 150 units of the game were managed to be sold during the midnight release and more units are expected to be on hand of gamers later today. Hit on the THIS LINK to check out what went down at Gamer’s Hideout Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Midnight Launch.

Pothead.
So, the latest installment in the long running The Elders Scrolls series – called Skyrim – has just landed into the market yesterday and as soon as the much awaited RPG arrived into the hand of gamers, they wasted no time going through the game which usually means finding funny things such as this one.
Apparently, it is not hard to steal stuff in the game. All you got to do is cover the eyes of the non-playing-characters with a pot and voila, you are good to go. Have fun…thieves. *snicker*

We don’t know about you but we felt that the graphics card world is a little bit quiet these days and it looks like it going to be like this until next year. A news just popped up saying that AMD has delayed the release of its next generation Radeon GPUs to next year. Fondly referred to as Radeon HD 7000 series, the new GPU was originally scheduled to be released in this quarter.
The reason behind the delay is not very clear but according to the source, it is caused by some production issue. That being said, the new Radeon HD 7000 is said to be able to offer performances that are almost similar to the dual-core Radeon HD 6990 monster in just a single-core GPU. Well, this might be futile but we still have a little of hope that the new GPU will not burst our wallet as per the HD 6990.

Just like football fans, a lot of gamers love to show their love for their games via t-shirts that carries the name or the theme of their games. When it comes to Blizzard games such as StarCraft, WarCraft, Diablo and World of WarCraft, J!NX is one of the place to look for such t-shirts as their products are officially sanctioned by Blizzard themselves.
Not only that, J!NX also offers products for other titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, EVE Online, Team Fortress 2 and Portal 2; to just name a few of J!NX official collaboration. In addition to these official products, they also produce their own design that reflects the unique culture of gaming.
Previously, one is only able to purchase J!NX goodies online but now, gamers can actually obtain their products directly here in Malaysia through Robotica Toys, the official (and the biggest) Premium Reseller of J!NX products in Malaysia. The status is real; we just checked with J!NX themselves.
If you already like what you are reading, then check this out: Robotica Toys is currently having a year-end sale in which you are able to purchase J!NX t-shirts of like the Diablo III special edition t-shirt above (it doesn’t come with the game though) for as low as RM 60. This offer is valid till 31st December 2011 and is applicable through online purchases at www.robotica-toys.com or through their thread in Lowyat.NET Forums as well as at their physical store in Subang Square of SS15 Subang Jaya.
In the meantime, Robotica Toys is also part of PIKOM PC Fair which is on-going right now at PIKOM ICT Mall @ Capsquare, Kuala Lumpur in which you can check out the full J!NX products range that the Robotica Toys have right now and of course, enjoy the year-end sale offer that we mentioned earlier as well.

It is time to polish your (virtual) carjacking skills, gamers…Grand Theft Auto is back! Rockstar Games has just unleashed the first ever trailer for Grand Theft Auto V and although the company is brilliant enough to cover many of the game’s important details such as the characters and the release date, the trailer gives viewers a significant glimpse of the city that will become the ground of GTAV.
Judging by the Vinewood signboard – a direct reference to Hollywood – in the trailer, it seems that GTAV will take place in Los Santos which was first featured in GTA: San Andreas back in 2004. Obviously, the city looks better now as consoles and graphics on PC are already generations ahead since GTA: San Andreas was released. Well, let’s see what Rockstar still has in store for GTA V next.

In my day, playing Duke3D was a fist pumping middle finger to authority and a good way to enjoy all the pixelated stripper boobage (cmon, you all did it) a young pre teen could handle before the advent of broadband of course. So now, seeing the cigar smoking jock of a protagonist reinvented in the 15-years-in-the-making Duke Nukem Forever.
For those of you who miss the linear gameplay and keyboard based FPS style of yore will be happy to know that Duke Nukem 3D is now available for Android. If you’ve got an Android phone running 2.1 or higher, head on over to the Marketplace and check it out. Duke Nukem 3D runs for 99cents and even if you play it only once, it will be worth every penny. Shake it baby!

Ever had one of those moments where you look down during a presentation and realize that you’re blocking the projector bulb and everyone’s staring at you? Wouldn’t it be nice if those presentation sides could just move around you so you won’t be blocking the text? Well, thanks to Kinect, it just might; you won’t even need a laser pointer either to do your presentation. Thanks to Haruki Maeda from Meiji University, who hacked the Microsoft Kinect, texts in projector presentations could work its way around you so you won’t be blocking the audience’s view.
Thanks to C3, Excel and a Kinect, the hack can even detect gestures so instead of asking someone to change the slide or click, all you have to do is wave your hands around a little; you can even do the whole pinch-to-zoom thing right on stage. In the demonstration available right after the break, you can even push the text away so IT won’t get in your way. This project is aimed at making presentation more efficient, intuitive and easy to understand. Go ahead, hit the link to watch a demo.

As you might have heard before, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception for PlayStation 3 has hit video games store everywhere on November 1st. Last week, we were given the opportunity to sample a small portion of what the game got to offer and frankly speaking, the game already felt pretty awesome even though it was only a pre-release demo.
We are aware that the clip above is certainly too short and it doesn’t give justice to the amazing game but unfortunately, we were not able to share further. Fret not, the game is readily available at your favourite video games retailers. So for the time being, do enjoy the video.
Note: We apologized for the disruption in the image quality.

Stay tuned for footages from the game’s actual official launch very soon.

Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong (SCEH) has recently announced that the PlayStation Vita will be available over in Hong Kong on 23rd Decemeber 2011 – less than a week after Vita’s initial release in Japan. The company have also unveiled the pricing for the device which will go for RM 1,110 (HKD 2,780) for 3G + Wi-Fi model and RM 911 (HKD 2,280) for stand-alone Wi-Fi variant.
Some might take this as indication that the new handheld will be hitting Malaysia around the same time as its official release in Hong Kong since SCEH are responsible for all things PlayStation in this region. However, we got in touch with SCEH recently and unfortunately, they don’t have any confirmation regarding PlayStation Vita release for Malaysia at the time being. Oh well…

While SMM might have cancelled Dota 2 appearance at the upcoming SMM Grand National Dota Tournament Grand Finals, local gamers will still be able to check out the game very soon thanks to an upcoming regional tour by Valve’s distributor for South East Asia, Online e-Club. The tour will be covering Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore and of course, Malaysia.
In fact, Kuala Lumpur will be host to tour’s finale which has been scheduled to take place at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 17 to 18 December in conjunction with the upcoming Comic Fiesta. Dubbed as the Dota 2 Malaysia Invitational, the exhibition tournament will see eight teams from countries throughout South East Asia region battling it out for cash prizes in total of RM 31,245 (USD 10,000).
So Dota fans, you might want to circle that date out as this is most probably the closest you can get to the game outside of its official release which is expected to take place next year.

Last week we talked about a TV show in UK that went on to build an epic and one-of-a-kind simulator for Battlefield 3. However, the footage that we received were just a teaser of the segment and we thought we might need to wait for somebody to share the clip on YouTube…you know, in not exactly legal way.
It turns out that the show is kind enough to post the full segment online. Now everybody throughout the world are able to watch the show’s host get schooled by twelve paintball guns because he didn’t react fast enough to enemy gunfire in the world’s most awesome Battlefield 3 simulator.

Invented in 2006, the Razer Synapse technology allow owners of Razer gaming peripherals to store their game settings such as macro keys, game profiles and bind keys right into their peripherals via on-board memory. Soon, the technology will move up to the cloud to give users the capability to access their settings virtually anywhere via Internet.
“Razer Synapse 2.0 is a testament to our drive to continually innovate for the benefit of the gamer and end-user. Razer Synapse 2.0 gives gamers a convenient, single cloud-based platform to access, maintain, and store settings for all of their Razer devices. On-board memory, with its limited storage for user profiles, becomes obsolete when Razer Synapse 2.0 offers essentially unlimited space for all of your hardware settings,”- Robert “RazerGuy” Krakoff, President, Razer USA.
The Razer Synapse 2.0 is currently in beta phase and the outfit is looking for 500 Razer Naga MMO Gaming Mouse owners to participate in the test. If you own one and interested to check out the new cloud-based capability, head on to www.razerzone.com/synapse2 to sign up.
